Hi, I’m Natalia, founder of Akasha, the sustainable & eco-friendly aromatherapy candlemaker based in Leyton, London.
My mission is to create candles that enhance your well-being and bring harmony to your space and surroundings. This begins with the highest quality and carefully selected ingredients that are eco-friendly and sustainable, from 100% soy wax to pure essential oils that are ethically sourced. Every candle is hand poured in my home, and it is imperative to me that every detail supports your conscious journey to the senses whilst also being kind to the earth. My intention is to inspire you to be mindful when buying and using any candle. My intention is to bring you peace of mind when using Akasha candles for aromatherapy purposes. My intention is to be respectful to our planet and its finite resources. My intention is to collaborate with like minded suppliers when it comes to sustainability, fair trade and cruelty free practices. My intention is for you to enjoy a product that is non toxic, environmentally friendly and cruelty free. Every time you light up an Akasha candle please do it with purpose. Let’s connect with intention. |
Akasha means;
Akasha, [ ah-kah-shuh ] (Sanskrit ākāśa आकाश) means space or ether in traditional Indian cosmology and it is said to be the first element, or the fifth element, according to Aristotle.
When we think of space, we often think of it as being empty. However, ether creates the space for the other elements to fill. It is ether that is responsible for allowing change and growth to take place.

Sustainability
Each and every component of the candle is sourced from the UK, is vegan friendly and cruelty free. From the essential oils to the labels and packaging.
- Our essential oils supplier is based in the UK. They deal only with farmers who work in harmony with nature, share our ideals of organic and sustainable agriculture and pay their employees fairly. It took me a while to find a supplier that does not compromise the purity of the ingredients, guarantees the therapeutic properties of the oil and matches my sustainability and fair trade values. - Our soy wax is made in the UK. The wax is natural and Kosher. - Our jars and wicks are also sourced within the UK. We ensure that everything we use is safe and non-toxic. I am candle maker proud to offer a product that is made taking conscious decisions from beginning to end. And this is just the beginning, meaning that I will be continuously looking for ways to minimise our footprint on this planet and improving your experience and mine. |
The making process
All candles are poured with intention and love in my home kitchen, in Leyton, London.
I personally formulate and carefully blend essential oils until I get the result I am looking for in every scent. Each candle has a story and their scent has been thoroughly thought and tested for you. Although I am the solely person responsible and only candle maker. Although I am in charge of candle making in Akasha I'm extremely lucky of always being accompanied by my loyal companion, my cat Eddie. And sometimes, when schedule permits, by my very loving and supportive other half, Derek. I am forever grateful for having them by my side. |
